3-minute thesis success for Chandnee Ramkissoon
Chandnee Ramkissoon from the FTRC won the second prize in the 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition in the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine at the University of Adelaide.
The “3 Minute thesis” is a research communication competition assessing the ability of the graduate students in efficiently summarising their PhD research in a 3-minute talk using only 1 slide for a broader audience.
Chandnee’s presentation focused on the global need to enrich commercial fertilisers with essential micronutrients, with the ultimate aim of improving the nutritional quality of food for human diets. Her presentation was exceptional and clearly explained the benefits of her current PhD study with selenium. (“Selenium dynamics in cereal biofortification: optimising fertiliser formulation and crop residue management”). Chandnee’s study is a part of the partnership program between the University of Adelaide and the University of Nottingham (UK) utilising equipment and expertise of both Institutions.
FTRC would like to congratulate Chandnee for this prestigious award.
