Maarten Everaert wins second prize for the Brian Chambers Award (IFS)
Maarten Everaert is working towards his PhD thesis on the development of new slow release P fertilisers, at The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) with a six month visiting period at the Fertiliser Technology Research Centre.
While at the FTRC, he assessed the fertiliser materials for both agronomic and environmental benefits.
Maarten was awarded the second prize for the Brian Chamber Award for early career researchers in crop nutrition, organised by the International Fertilizer Society. The award is related to his work entitled, 'Limited phosphorus runoff losses using LDH and struvite fertilisers: A rainfall simulation study', authored by Maarten, Rodrigo C. da Silva, Fien Degryse, Mike J. McLaughlin, and Erik Smolders.
This research was summarised in the awarded poster and can also be read in the scientific article published at the Journal of Environmental Quality.
FTRC would like to congratulate Maarten for this prestigious award.
