Industry placements and work-based training
Across all four disciplines, our industry placements immerse students in professional practice. Students undertake work-based training.
We champion creative industry partnerships and community engagement to expose students to live architecture and engineering projects – ranging from humanitarian concerns, local NGO initiatives, and work with local primary schools through to fabricating experimental prototypes.

Gain practical and hands-on experience through access to high-tech facilities including Innovation Studios, welding workshops and 3D printing.

Study overseas
Travel both overseas and interstate as part of your studies. Study tours have taken us to Oman, New Caledonia, South Korea, Italy, Indonesia, Malaysia and India.
We are very proud of our 6-year tripartite Design Studio between our University, Tongji University (China), University of Adelaide and the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) as well as our 9-year (2018) joint education program with Nantong University (China).

The University of Adelaide’s Civil Engineering Society, Engineering Society and AUSABE (Architecture) are student-run organisations that provide enriching social experiences and career-building opportunities.
The Adelaide Sustainability Association is a large student club committed to raising awareness about sustainability issues and solutions. It also provides professional development opportunities for students.
