The Sound of Light
By Renae Schulz, Studio Cultures
An individual off the street with a personal identity. Waiting for a train, next to another. They step onto the train.
Together these individuals gain a temporary identity – a commuter. East to west from one horizon to the next. The same sequence on different days.
Light through vision, light through sensation. Light gains a temporary identity entering as visible but leaving as invisible.
Leaving as the sound of light.
Through sun lit spaces, and the movement of shadow created by structure, The Sound of Light proposes questions about the way we see. The identity through seeing and the consistent patterns of life.
What if we were to listen the same way we see?
