The University of Adelaide’s 2023 Scholarship Celebration
The 2023 Scholarship Celebration was held on Thursday 26th October at the National Wine Centre Hickinbotham Hall.
The University of Adelaide celebrated academic excellence with six ACE students awarded the Raymond McMillan Scholarship in Civil Engineering. McMillan Constructions Pty Ltd continues to honour Raymond’s memory, offering scholarships to South Australia’s most talented students, in addition to establishing a McMillan teacher in residence program.
Extended gratitude to the Raymond McMillan Scholarship donors, Mrs Lee-Ann Hunt, director of McMillan Constructions, and her husband, Reverend Paul Hunt.
Congratulations to the Raymond McMillan scholarship recipients: Carla Gore, Binh Le, and Kailee Morris, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours).
The Raymond McMillan High Achiever Scholarships were awarded to: Rhiannon Hsieh, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil), Gleb Lebedev, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil) with Bachelor of Finance, and Jovan Maric, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil) with Bachelor of Finance and Banking.
Esteemed student Alice Miller was also invited to present on stage as a part of a panel discussion. Her ongoing studies in engineering and mathematical sciences prove her dedication and commitment to the school. Alice is passionate about increasing opportunities for women in STEM, and the exciting possibilities within Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
In addition to the Raymond McMillan recipients, the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering would like to recognise William Smith, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Environment and Climate Solutions, for receiving the Don Alexander Scholarship in Water Engineering.
Don Alexander Scholarship donors, Elinor, Felicity, and Meg Alexander bestowed a gift to establish a scholarship program in water engineering to honour their late father Don Alexander’s legacy.
This concludes the celebrations for another year of academic excellence.
