PhD Scholarship available in the School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering

The School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering is offering a PhD scholarship in the field of quantifying uncertainty on resource domain boundaries.

Supported by the Premier Research Industry Funds Research Consortia Program, 'Unlocking Complex Resources through Lean Processing'; the scholarship will be for a period of three years from April 2019 and has a stipend of $27,000 per annum. 

The successful applicant will work in the general topic area of sensing and quantifying the variability with time of run of mine ore using existing production data and direct sampling.

The specific project for this PhD position is to construct geostatistical models to be able to recognise steep transitions between geological domains, and the potential for ore sorting to increase the value of ore delivered to the mill.
