Congratulations to our graduates from the School of Mathematical Sciences
Completing your studies is a time to celebrate, reminisce and look to the future.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 continues to impact formal celebrations, but we want you to know that the School and Faculty staff are extremely proud of your achievements.
Message of congratulations
"I would like to warmly congratulate all the graduates from our mathematical sciences programs.
You can be proud of what you have achieved. You have immersed yourselves in mathematical theories that are fundamental to our understanding of the world around us. You have learned to analyse and draw conclusions from data. You have honed your written and oral communication skills, coding and teamwork skills, and your research and problem-solving skills. You are well prepared for future success.
Armed with your degree you have a huge range of opportunities before you. We need people with qualifications in mathematics and statistics everywhere in society. Some of you will go on to work in industry, finance, or government. Some of you will join the noble profession of teaching. Some of you will go on to further studies with us or at other universities. It gives us great pleasure when our undergraduates choose to stay and do postgraduate work with us.
I hope you never lose your passion for learning. Knowledge grows and ways of working change ever more rapidly. To be successful you will need to keep learning as you go through life. I encourage you to regularly Update Your Details so we can keep you informed about events and exciting professional development opportunities. The School and University also want to hear about, acknowledge and celebrate your future wins!
I wish you all the best in your future endeavours."
– Professor Finnur Larusson, Head of the School of Mathematical Sciences
We wish to extend our warmest congratulations to our new Mathematical Science Alumni:
