An Introduction to Fundamentals of Diffusion in Solid State Materials

A comprehensive new book provides an overview of diffusion in the synthesis and analysis of materials is launched by our Staff.

A/Prof. Reza Ghomashchi

A/Prof. Reza Ghomashchi from the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering has launched a new book, which offers a comprehensive overview of diffusion in the synthesis and analysis of materials (metals and non metals) from the fundamentals through applications. Written with less emphasis on complex mathematical equations, this text is accessible to researchers and students in materials, mechanical, and related engineering disciplines studying the phenomenon of diffusion in materials and its application in the engineering of materials.

This is a useful textbook as well as research reference book for those involved in teaching and/or researching materials processing, alloy design, phase transformation, coatings, thermal and thermomechanical treatment of alloys or any study involving the movement of atoms in materials at your School/lab.  There are questions and solutions at the end of each chapter to give better understanding of the topic for teaching purposes. It also contains a large data on diffusion, mainly metallic materials, for researchers.
