The South Australian Red Cross Youth Advisory Committee Presents: World Red Cross Day Seminar 2019

World Red Cross Day is held annually around the globe on 8 May, the day that Red Cross Red Crescent founder Henry Dunant was born.

To mark this day in Adelaide in 2019 we are bringing together three big names in the humanitarian sector to explore the topic "Humanitarian Issues in 2019: A Snapshot".

The seminar aims to provide members of the public with unique insight into a number of the most pressing global issues and, importantly, highlight the perspective of experienced professionals and humanitarians who dedicate their lives to addressing those issues.

Our guest panelists will share first-hand stories and provide rare insight into a range of topics; from climate change, natural disasters and displacement, to gender equality and poverty, both here in Australia and overseas.

Panelists:

Catherine Branson AO QC - Deputy Chancellor, University of Adelaide
(Former President of the Australian Human Rights Commission and Judge of the Federal Court of Australia)

Lucinda Lovelock - Manager, Relationships Australia South Australia
(Former Director of the Australian Migrant Resource Centre and Senior Manager at Scope Global)
