- Prof Kazunari Domen Presenter
Photocatalytic water splitting for large-scale solar hydrogen production.
Photocatalytic water splitting using solar energy is one of the most promising practical ways to produce clean and sustainable energy carrier and chemical resources.
In this seminar, Professor Kazunari Domen will introduce you to selected state-of-the-art photocatalysts and solar hydrogen production systems. Following a brief overview of photocatalytic water splitting, Professor Domen will then detail the UV responsive SrTiO3-based photocatalysts with a quantum efficiency of almost unity.
You will learn about several photocatalysts which split water into H2 and O2 under visible light, as well as solar hydrogen production systems using photocatalyst-sheets and water splitting panel for a large-scale solar hydrogen production.
To conclude, Professor Domen will address future prospects and challenges for practical solar hydrogen production systems.
