Photographer of the Year

Congratulations to Professor Carl Howard from the School of Mechanical Engineering, who is the Oceania Regional Winner in the Institution of Mechanical Engineers 2018 Photographer of the Year Competition.

The winning photo shows an experimental rig in the School of Mechanical Engineering acoustic anechoic chamber, created by PhD student Orddom Leav, Professors Carl Howard and Ben Cazzolato, used to simulate the sound emitted from an exhaust stack attached to a gas-turbine power station. This photo will now go on to compete in the overall final.
