United Nations Global Road Safety Week

The Fifth United Nations Global Road Safety Week will focus on "leadership for road safety".

Held from 6-12 May 2019, UN Global Road Safety Week aims to generate demand from the public for stronger leadership on road safety, with a view towards evidence-based solutions and inspiring leaders to take action.

The United Nations has developed Save Lives: a road safety technical package, which provides evidence-based interventions targeted at:

  • speed management
  • leadership
  • infrastructure design and improvement
  • vehicle safety standards
  • traffic law enforcement
  • post-crash survival.
