Ray Stalker Award – High Achieving Young Professionals and Students in the Australian Aerospace Industry

This year the Australian Division of the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Australian Youth Aerospace Association established the Ray Stalker Award to recognise exceptional young professionals within the Australian aerospace industry for their outstanding achievements.

The Ray Stalker Award honours one of the true pioneers in hypersonic research.  Stalker was Australia’s first professor of space engineering and a pioneer of the world’s fastest jet engines, the scramjet. His lifework laid the foundations for a respected Australian presence in hypersonic aerodynamics.

The recipient of this award will be given $5,000 to spend attending a range of international aerospace events and to globally promote the Australian Aerospace Industry. The awardee will be invited to present at the annual Aerospace Futures Conference, held in Sydney in July 2019.

The winner will be announced at the Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition at Avalon on Tuesday, 26th February 2019. The Award will be presented in Melbourne at the 18th Australian International Aerospace Congress dinner.

An nomination form is found on the AYAA website in the event you wish to put forward an application. Nominees must be under 35 years old, be an Australian citizen and currently work or study in the aerospace industry. The award intends to recognise individuals in the early stages of their career who have the potential and drive to make a significant impact in the Australian Aerospace Industry.
