3 successful candidates for the Academic Women's Research Excellence Awards

Congratulations to the three ECMS candidates who were successful in the University's Academic Women's Research Excellence Awards (WREA).

The University of Adelaide’s Vice-Chancellor, in partnership with the Gender, Equity and Diversity Committee and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research), established the Academic Women’s Research Excellence Awards (WREA) in 2015 to recognise, celebrate, and promote academic women’s research excellence at early career and mid-level career levels at the University of Adelaide.

In 2019 there were up to ten awards valued at $5,000 each.

Congratulations to Dr Cheryl Suwen Law, Dr Nataliia Sergiienko and Dr Cristiana Ciobanu for their fantastic achievement!

Dr Law's research is focussed on nanofabrication, optical chemo- and biosensing.

Sergiienko, Nataliia

Dr Nataliia Sergiienko
Mechanical Engineering

Dr Sergiienko's research focusses on hydrodynamic modelling of ocean wave energy converters (WECs), control of multi-degree-of-freedom WECs and layout optimisation of a wave farm.

Ciobanu, Cristina

Dr Cristiana Ciobanu
Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials

Dr Ciobanu's research interests include iron-oxide mineralogy, the genesis of ore deposits, development of new mineral geochronometers and the investigation of rocks and minerals at the nanoscale using transmission electron microscopy.
