Join the Adelaide Rover Team for the 2022 challenge

Applications to join the Adelaide Rover Team are now open! In 2021 we competed in the inaugural Australian Rover Challenge – a competition tasking university students to design and build a lunar rover to compete in a full-scale simulated lunar mission.

Now, the time has come to start the next mission. We are looking for passionate individuals who love space, rovers, or robotics in general to design and build a functional and innovative rover to compete in the 2022 Australian Rover Challenge. We are after students studying a wide range of areas, including:

  • Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Geology
  • Physics
  • Media, and
  • Finance

For the ECMS students, engineering and computer science make up the bulk of the technical and design work. Knowledge in physics and geology will be key in taking our rover to the next level, allowing us to complete meaningful scientific tasks such as resource extraction and identification.

We are also looking for media students to promote the team and document the team's progress throughout the lead-up to the competition. We imagine the roles will include helping to run our social media accounts, graphic and branding design, and photography and videography.

Finance students will help to support the team administratively and in managing the project budget for this and future years.

No previous experience required!
