Students to attend final round in August 2024 in Tokyo, Japan.

Congratulations to the University of Adelaide robotics team selected as finalists for the 2024 IEEE Region 10 Robotics Competition with their project "MineSwarm", aimed at addressing humanitarian problems - for safe and efficient detection and mapping of landmines.

The team, supervised by Dr Xin Yuan, is led by Daotong Zhang with team members including Caleb Rodgers, Gaoling Shi, and Jake Delyster. The robotics team developed a swarm of robots to scan through high-risk, complex and unknown environments for the detection of landmines – at minimal costs and without human involvement.

The final competition will take place on 29-30 August 2024 at the Meiji University Nakano Campus, Tokyo. The University of Adelaide team will be the only Australian team in the final of this prestigious competition.
