Students Clinch 2nd Place in Prestigious 2024 International Warman Design and Build Competition

Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Students Secure Shine at 2024 International Design and Build Competition

Congratulations to the students of the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering for their outstanding performance at the 2024 International Warman Competition held on 26 and 27 October. The University of Adelaide team secured second place overall, winning $2,000 in prize money as the best-performing Australian team.

Participation in this extracurricular activity serves to enhance students’ understanding of the engineering design process and teamwork. 19 teams from across Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia competed via video link. South Australian teams from the University of Adelaide, UniSA and Flinders joined the competition from the Creation Studio at the University of Adelaide’s North Terrace campus.

Thanks to Boeing Defence Australia and the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering for financial support and to undergraduate student tutor Hamish Trehearne for his assistance throughout the year. Many thanks also to the administrative, electrical and technical staff from the University of Adelaide for their continued assistance and support.
