Research Grant: Addressing the Challenges of the Digital Technologies Curriculum. K. Falkner, N. Falkner and R. Vivian, Google Research Contract ($65,000 + In-Kind) (2013-2014)

This project involves the development of a MOOC designed to assist primary and secondary school teachers in developing the skills and experience in teaching computational thinking and, correspondingly, the new Digital Technologies Curriculum. The MOOC will explore appropriate pedagogy, both in terms of how do we teach teachers, and appropriate pedagogy for teachers to learn the skills for designing learning activities and content to address the specific learning objectives at that respective grade levels for the digital technologies curriculum. As part of this work, a review of current best practice and learning activity examples will be undertaken to provide both best practice examples as MOOC content, and linkage with the broader community to assist in ongoing teacher development.
