The program works to develop the leaders of tomorrow and connect our high performing Women in STEM with industry – encouraging them to pursue careers in the growing fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics where women have been traditionally underrepresented.

As the only program in Australia that offers personal and professional management level development for tertiary women in STEM, WiSC program members participate in workshops, leadership, career development and entrepreneurship opportunities to encourage confidence, strengths and resilience.

Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences Diversity Coordinator Julia Miller said that the graduation was an amazing end to a fantastic year for our Women in STEM.

“We’re so proud of our women and look forward to seeing them grow into industry leaders,” she said.

“Thank you to our partner sponsors who enable us to continue to deliver this program, including SA Water and guest speaker Michelle Pennington.”

Other supporting partners included Babcock Australia, elmTEK, Guidera O’Connor, Lockheed Martin, SAAB Australia, SRC Australia, and SUEZ.

Women enrolled in a STEM degree at the University of Adelaide can apply to participate in the program from their second year onwards. To find out more, visit https://ecms.adelaide.edu.au/women-in-stem/.
