A workshop presented by guest researcher from the University of Valencia, Dr Anabel Forte.
Model selection in general and Variable selection in particular have become some of the most important approaches for solving scientific questions in the XXI century. The Bayesian paradigm provides a nice framework to select models/variables by naturally incorporating every source of uncertainty that arise in the process. In particular, BayesVarSel is an R package which performs Bayesian Variable selection for linear models in an user friendly environment with easily interpretable outputs.
Outline:
10:00 - 11:00: Introduction to Bayesian learning
11:00 - 12:00: Bayesian variable selection with BayesVarsel
12:00 - 13:00: Lunch
13:00 - 14:30: Hands on BayesVarSel
14:30 - 15:00: Ideas for going beyond BayesVarSel
