After much deliberation the Faculty Judging Panel have selected our two winners who will proceed to the Virtual University 3MT Final Competition which will be held as part of the Research Tuesdays Series on 14 September. Thank you to all of our talented students who took on the challenge and we wish our ECMS finalists all the very best for the University of Adelaide Challenge.
Researchers and students from the School of Mechanical Engineering will be establishing life-changing hydropower systems and training to Malaita on the Solomon Islands.
This 3 month paid engineering internship runs from December to February providing real-world, multidisciplinary learning experiences and counts towards fulfilling engineering degree requirements. Applications close 1 September.

This scholarship is jointly funded by Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre (FBI CRC) and University of Adelaide to support a full-time PhD student who is undertaking research in Power Systems Engineering and application of large-scale energy storage for microgrid operation.

Aimed at engineering students studying at Universities all around Australia that are in their last or second last years of study, DIIP is an opportunity to gain practical engineering experience at a Small or Medium Enterprise (SME) that supports the Defence Industry in Australia. Applications close 1 August.
Mechanical Engineering Honours student, Caitlin Scarborough alone designed, built and tested a floating platform that can support a 5MW wind turbine. Her platform was tested at the University of Adelaide wave flume under a range of wave and wind conditions, and the platform motion was detected using a motion capturing system OptiTrack.
On Thursday 20 May the Women in STEM Alumni Network (WiSAN) was officially launched.
