UofA researchers first Australians to receive international hydrological award
University of Adelaide water researchers David McInerney, Mark Thyer and Dmitri Kavetski have achieved international recognition of their outstanding research by being awarded the STAHY Best Paper Award for 2021 by the International Commission on Statistical Hydrology (ICSH).

CASR secures three life saving Road Safety Innovation Fund grants
The Centre for Automotive Safety Research (CASR) has been awarded 3 projects under the Federal Government's Road Safety Innovation Fund (Round 2, 2021) scheme. The projects will be conducted over the next 3 years on South Australian roads.

ASPER academics win award for carbon capture and storage research
Associate Professor Simon Holford and Dr Mark Bunch from the Australian School of Petroleum and Energy Resources received the award for Best Extended Abstract at the APPEA 2021 Conference and Exhibition in Perth, for their short paper entitled Storing CO2 in buried volcanoes.

Student project making waves in floating wind-turbine testing technology
Mechanical Engineering Honours student, Caitlin Scarborough alone designed, built and tested a floating platform that can support a 5MW wind turbine. Her platform was tested at the University of Adelaide wave flume under a range of wave and wind conditions, and the platform motion was detected using a motion capturing system OptiTrack.
